Chris Finnen - 3 Shows Only - Sydney, Dee Why and Newcastle

CHRIS FINNEN (SA)

Revered by his peers and once performing up close and personal for the Dalai Lama, Chris Finnen is one of the countries best kept secrets when it comes to performing guitar, banjo and singing his groove based blues. Out of the ordinary, Finnen has spiced his music with Indian, Celtic and African instruments lacing song styles his high Falsetto vocals.

Vocally, Chris had a big wake up call early on "Years ago when I first started the guitar was my main squeeze and I started singing. "One day at a gig" continues Chris "this guy came up to me and said, 'You're a great guitar player mate but why do you bother to open your mouth?".  This prompted Chris to do something about his voice, and that's when he discovered his high falsetto talent.

Chris to his own admission has also added a sense of humour to the blues songs he writes staying away from the 'I drank to much and lost my woman' scenario and sings about all sorts of weird and wonderful experiences.

To many accolades to mention, Chris, over the years, performed and recorded with Chain, Phil Manning and Jeff Lang, has shared the stage with the worlds best including Buddy Guy, Bo Diddley, Jimmy Witherspoon, Eric Burdon, Keb Mo, Bob Brozman and Mavis Staples he was inducted into the South Australian Hall Of Fame in 1995. His works include film scores, theatrical productions and in November 2012, Chris joins Sydney's powerhouse duo, Dave Tice and Mark Evans for 3 shows Sydney, Dee Why and Newcastle.
